Erie, founded in 1795, is the fifth largest city in Pennsylvania with a population of over 90,000 people. The city was named for Lake Erie and the Eriez Native Americans who once inhabited the area. Erie is also part of the Lake Erie Grape Belt, a 50 mile region in Pennsylvania that grows concord grapes, making Erie a great place to be if you enjoy visiting a good winery!
