Pasadena, Texas was established in 1893 and was named after a city of the same name in California. Pasadena, Texas is known as "The Strawberry Capital of the South." The city was once a large producer of big, sweet, juicy strawberries and to commemorate this accomplishment the annual Strawberry Festival has been held for over 5 decades every spring. The festival takes place over one weekend in May and features live music, games, rides and of course delicious strawberry creations!
